We’re excited for the holidays! Something we’ve looked forward to since moving in to our new house is spending this year’s holiday season at home. Our excitement has turned into an explosion of lights, ornaments, tinsel and Christmas-y decor. We put the tree up the day after Halloween — that’s how crazy we are. The children have enjoyed the decorating process, perhaps a bit too much. We keep finding bells and pine cones and string pulled from various decorations. Gigi now has a lovely set of book shelves, and she and her brother are displaying several Christmas/Holiday books prominently. We can’t wait to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with family and friends. We even get a little sad thinking about putting all this stuff up after Christmas. Until that blue day, we will be celebrating, hanging wreaths, baking cookies, opening advent calendars, singing carols and welcoming the Elf on the Shelf.
