THANKSGIVING AT CASA ALMANZA

Our first Thanksgiving at the official Casa Almanza was a huge success. And both Nicholas and I worked very hard to make sure of this. I started decorating weeks ago. We asked Elizabeth at the Petaler to create a fall centerpiece, and it was absolutely beautiful. The whole table seemed to match with the green accent wall. Everything looked perfect! And then there was the food. Nicholas stayed up until 2 a.m. the night before making fresh cornbread. And then, he woke up at 6 a.m. to start cooking. He never took one break until all the food was done. It was absolutely amazing. We enjoyed his special Brussels sprouts and pancetta; green beans with prosciutto; cornbread stuffing; garlic mashed potatoes; chile con queso; gravy; cranberry sauce; turkey and prime rib. Also, we can’t forget about the best thing on the table: King’s Hawaiian rolls! As for the children, they have both been spoiled rotten by grandparents all week, and we are looking forward to spending more time with family. From Halloween to Thanksgiving, I can say officially that our holidays have been such surprisingly terrific experiences. We can’t wait for Christmas!

We here at Casa Almanza are thankful for all of you. We are thankful for our home, our health, our gorgeous and rambunctious children and their grandparents. Most of all, we are thankful we get to spend this time of year exactly how we envisioned when we set out to build Casa Almanza.
