BACKYARD MOVIE NIGHT

What began on Mother’s Day will become the newest Casa Almanza tradition: Backyard Movie Night. Who cares if the theaters reopen? We have everything we need here: a screen, a beautiful backyard with plenty of pollen, a dog, a projector, a perfect popcorn recipe, a perfect S’mores recipe and a high hat for wine. We even have some cool lights and a (fake) cowskin rug. Mom chose the first movie, Practical Magic. Hands down the best book-to-movie movie where the movie is better than the book. The kids chose the second movie, A Nightmare Before Christmas. They both love to sing “This Is Halloween,” and when we look back on their childhood and remember their favorite songs, we will wonder whether we were sane parents for letting them love “This is Halloween” so much. Dad’s pick is next. I, of course, am saving Casablanca for Father’s Day, so I’ll have to think of a good movie for Sunday. What would be your movie night pick?
